Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
