The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
